Shenbai high-speed rail opened for operation today.

The key construction project of the national "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" and the regional connection line of the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network in China - the Shenyang to Changbai Mountain high-speed railway officially opened for operation today. The Shenyang-Changbai Mountain high-speed railway starts from Shenyang North Station, passing through Shenyang City and Fushun City in Liaoning Province, Tonghua City and Baishan City in Jilin Province, and connecting to Changbai Mountain Station. The total length of the line is 430 kilometers, making it the first high-speed railway line with an operating mileage of over 400 kilometers to open this year. The Shenyang-Changbai Mountain high-speed railway is designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and during the initial operation, it is planned to operate 64 sets of high-speed trains daily. The fastest travel time from Shenyang North to Tonghua, Baishan East, and Changbai Mountain West stations is 1 hour and 1 minute, 1 hour and 23 minutes, and 1 hour and 39 minutes respectively. The fastest travel time from Beijing Chaoyang and Shenyang North to Changbai Mountain Station is 4 hours and 33 minutes, and 1 hour and 53 minutes respectively, which is 1 hour and 23 minutes faster than the current high-speed train operation time. After the opening of the Shenyang-Changbai Mountain high-speed railway, all 14 prefecture-level cities in Liaoning Province will be connected by high-speed rail, forming a fast railway passenger transport channel from Shenyang to Changbai Mountain, further optimizing and improving the layout of the high-speed rail network in the Northeast region. The three prefecture-level cities of Fushun, Tonghua, and Baishan will end the history of no high-speed rail connection, further shortening the time and space distance between the eastern part of Liaoning and Jilin provinces and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. This has important significance for promoting the implementation of the strategy of comprehensive revitalization of the Northeast in the new era and promoting high-quality development of the regional economy.
