National Bureau of Statistics: Improve the quality of rehabilitation services for disabled people and ensure the safety net is solid and reliable.
On September 28th, the National Bureau of Statistics released the "Social Livelihood Statistics Report since the 14th Five-Year Plan". Among them: the rehabilitation needs of people with disabilities are better met. By 2024, 8.67 million people with disabilities nationwide received basic rehabilitation services, 1.55 million people with disabilities received basic assistive device fitting services, and the coverage rate of basic rehabilitation services and assistive device fitting services for people with disabilities has remained stable at over 85%. A total of 1.225 million households of severely disabled families have completed barrier-free renovations, exceeding the target of 1.1 million households set out in the 14th Five-Year Plan. The support for people with disabilities has been strengthened. By the end of 2024, a total of 27.489 million people with disabilities participated in the basic pension insurance for urban and rural residents, 9.81 million people with disabilities received assistance in paying insurance premiums, and the participation rates of people with disabilities in basic pension insurance for urban and rural residents and basic medical insurance have remained stable at 90% and 95%, respectively. 11.89 million economically disadvantaged people with disabilities receive living subsidies, 16.36 million severely disabled people receive care subsidies, effectively addressing the special living difficulties and long-term care difficulties faced by people with disabilities.
