On September 28, the National Bureau of Statistics released the "Social Livelihood Statistics Report Since the 14th Five-Year Plan". Among them: The rehabilitation needs of disabled people are better met. By 2024, 8.67 million disabled people nationwide received basic rehabilitation services, with 1.55 million receiving basic assistive device fitting services. The coverage rate of basic rehabilitation services and assistive device fitting services for disabled people has remained stable at over 85%. A total of 1.225 million households of severely disabled individuals have completed barrier-free renovations ahead of schedule, exceeding the goal of 1.1 million households set in the 14th Five-Year Plan. The level of protection for disabled people has been strengthened. By the end of 2024, a total of 27.489 million disabled people nationwide participated in basic old-age insurance for urban and rural residents, with 9.81 million receiving subsidies for insurance contributions. The participation rates for disabled people in basic old-age insurance and basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents have remained stable at 90% and 95%. 11.89 million disabled people with financial difficulties receive living allowances, while 16.36 million severely disabled people receive care allowances, effectively addressing the special life difficulties and long-term care challenges faced by disabled people.
