Softbank will lay off nearly 20% of employees at the Vision Fund.
According to media reports citing a memo and a knowledgeable source, SoftBank Group will lay off nearly 20% of its Vision Fund team worldwide. The Vision Fund currently has 44 employees. The remaining employees will allocate more resources to founder Masayoshi Son's artificial intelligence AI plan, such as the proposed $500 billion investment in the Starlink project. A Vision Fund spokesperson confirmed the layoff news, but did not comment on details.
