Economic Daily: Promote the balanced growth of supply and demand in the automotive industry.
Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other eight departments jointly issued the "Steady Growth Plan for the Automobile Industry", proposing to strive to achieve an annual car sales volume of around 32.3 million by 2025, including around 15.5 million sales of new energy vehicles. The policy includes more than 60 measures from four aspects: expanding consumption, improving supply, optimizing the environment, and opening up cooperation, aiming to promote the industry's overall improvement in quantity and quality through coordinated supply and demand. In recent years, China's new energy vehicle industry has developed rapidly, with production and sales volume ranking first in the world for several consecutive years. However, challenges such as intensified overseas competition, inadequate domestic demand, and disorderly market competition still exist in China's automobile industry. In the future, government departments should strengthen cost monitoring and account regulation to curb "zero-sum" competition, guide companies to focus on technological breakthroughs and value creation, and companies need to accelerate the development of key technologies such as chips and solid-state batteries. In addition, infrastructure operators should cooperate to improve charging infrastructure and data security legislation, jointly promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the automobile industry.
