This transaction accelerates IonQ's roadmap for developing more powerful and high-fidelity quantum computers and supports the company's expansion into the UK, Europe, Asia, and other global markets. Oxford Ionics will bring a team of world-class scientists and engineers to IonQ, as well as their patented innovations in trapped ion quantum systems to complement IonQ's existing hardware and software stack. The acquisition also provides IonQ with a UK operating base for future collaborations with leading universities, research institutions, and public sector partners.
