Many institutions predict that on that day, the domestic gasoline and diesel will decrease by about 230 yuan per ton, marking the fifth decrease this year, and the price of 92 gasoline in many places will return to 6 yuan per liter. According to the current pricing mechanism for finished oil, the main basis for domestic finished oil price adjustment is the comparison of the change rate between the weighted average price of international crude oil for the past 10 working days and the previous period. If the change rate corresponds to an adjustment amount of less than 50 yuan per ton, the prices of gasoline and diesel will not be adjusted, and the unadjusted amount will be included in the next price adjustment or offset. During this pricing cycle, the international crude oil price showed a rebound after a decline. The previous increase in production by OPEC+ unexpectedly led to a pessimistic market sentiment, causing the crude oil prices to fall. However, later on, with the China-US trade agreement and geopolitical factors in the Middle East, international oil prices fluctuated and rose. Overall, during this pricing cycle, the average international oil price decreased compared to the previous period. As a result, the change rate of the reference crude oil for domestic oil price adjustment has remained at a negative level. According to Zhuo Chuang information, as of the close of business on May 15, the reference crude oil change rate for the ninth working day in China was -5.23%, and it is estimated that gasoline and diesel will decrease by 230 yuan per ton, with the price adjustment window to take effect on May 19 at 24:00.
