The first national industry organization in the field of electric charging and swapping, the Working Committee of Shanghai Electric Power Association for charging and swapping facilities, was recently established. It will further promote industry self-discipline, regulate market order, improve service quality, and help Shanghai build a world-class electric charging network. It was reported that by the end of last year, the cumulative number of new energy vehicles registered in the city had exceeded 1.64 million, ranking among the top in China. At the same time, the construction of electric charging and swapping facilities has achieved rapid development, with the city's ratio of charging piles to vehicles leading the nation. Currently, the city has a total of 610,000 household charging piles, and a total of 250,000 public charging and swapping facilities have been connected. The total number of operational charging and swapping facilities is 171,800, including 108,300 public charging facilities and 63,500 dedicated charging facilities. In addition, Shanghai has also built 67 V2G charging stations, covering key areas such as Pudong Zhangjiang Science City and Lingang New Area. In this context, the establishment of the Working Committee is an important measure to respond to the industry's development trend and market demand.
