Heavy rainfall has caused three rivers in Guangxi to reach flood levels exceeding the alert threshold.
According to the monitoring by the hydrological department of Guangxi, due to heavy rainfall, from 8:00 on May 17th to 8:00 on May 18th, the Luojiang River, a tributary of the Guijiang River, the Fuqun River, and a tributary of the Luoqing River, the Xiriver, all experienced floods exceeding the warning level by 0.06 to 1.23 meters. By 8:00 on the 18th, only the Xiriver and the Fuqun River remained above the warning level by 0.06 to 0.52 meters, while the water levels of other rivers were below the warning level.
The water level at the Wuzhou hydrological station on the Xijiang River was 8.23 meters, with a flow rate of 8530 cubic meters per second. The Guangxi hydrological center predicts that in the next 24 hours, the middle and lower reaches of the Guijiang River, the lower reaches of the Luoqing River, the lower reaches of the Hejiang River, and the Xijiang River will continue to rise by 1-2 meters. Some small and medium-sized rivers in cities such as Nanning, Guigang, Wuzhou, Hezhou, and Yulin may experience flooding above the warning level.
