According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in April, the month-on-month consumer price index (CPI) changed from a 0.4% decrease from the previous month to a 0.1% increase; year-on-year it decreased by 0.1%, the same as the previous month. The core CPI changed from stable to an increase of 0.2% month-on-month; year-on-year it increased by 0.5%, maintaining a steady rise. The producer price index for industrial products decreased by 0.4% month-on-month, the same decrease as the previous month, and decreased by 2.7% year-on-year, which was 0.2 percentage points higher than the previous month. Dong Lijuan, the chief statistician of the urban division of the National Bureau of Statistics, stated that although international input factors have had some downward impact on prices in certain industries, China's economic foundation is stable and resilient. Various macroeconomic policies are working together, high-quality development is solidly advancing, and some areas are experiencing positive changes in prices.
