The Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Cui Dongshu, stated in a document that according to customs data, in April 2026, Chinese automobile exports achieved a strong breakthrough in the context of high oil prices and tight transport capacity: the total export of vehicles reached 939,000 units, with a value of 16.1 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 51% and 44% in quantity and value respectively. With new energy products as the core, China accurately responded to the strong global demand for low energy consumption models, mitigating the impact of oil price fluctuations and forming a positive cycle of "high oil prices enhanced advantages of new energy accelerated exports". At the same time, automobile parts exports also steadily increased, focusing on serving mature markets in Europe and America, relying on a well-established supply chain system to provide stable support for global automakers, forming a complementary pattern of "deep cultivation of automobile parts in Europe and America, radiating vehicles globally". The synergistic effect of the industrial chain is highlighted, collectively supporting the continuous improvement of China's automotive industry's global competitiveness.
