Issa Ousman Kuliabali, spokesperson for the transitional government of Mali and Minister of Territorial Management, confirmed on the evening of the 26th that Mali's Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Sadio Camara, was killed in an attack on military targets in Mali the previous day. According to a government statement read by Kuliabali on Mali national television, Camara's residence in Kati, a military stronghold near the capital Bamako, was attacked by a car bomb on the 25th. He was injured in a gunfight with the attackers and died after being taken to the hospital.
