The EU competition chief stated that during the Trump administration, dialogue between the EU and the US on digital policy remained smooth.
Theresa Revere, the EU's top competition official, said at the European Pulse Forum in Barcelona that during President Trump's second term, the EU has maintained a "fairly smooth and fairly consistent" dialogue with the US antitrust authorities. The US government has been opposed to the EU's Digital Markets Act, arguing that it unfairly targets American companies, but Revere said the EU will continue to enforce its rules. She said that a smooth dialogue "does not mean one side telling the other what to do, we have sovereignty in decision-making."
