Anthropic bets on a trillion-dollar market! Launches "model hardware standards" to help AI move into the real world.

Anthropic has announced a new software standard that enables AI assistants like Claude to better collaborate with Siasun Robot&Automation as well as hardware in the science and manufacturing industries. The AI startup is launching its Model Hardware Standard (MHS) in the form of a research preview, allowing developers in the fields of science, Siasun Robot&Automation, and manufacturing to test how Claude interacts with the real world and to establish necessary safety measures before the standard is widely released.
Essentially, the MHS stores information for AI assistants to understand how hardware operates, eliminating the need to consult paper manuals or rely on tacit knowledge possessed by only a few experts. For example, a supplier of robotic arms for factories can specify in the MHS how AI should safely operate a heavy robotic arm, including restrictions on its movement speed or angles.
As AI technology continues to progress, businesses and investors are increasingly focused on how to apply AI in real-world scenarios, such as in manufacturing, Siasun Robot&Automation, and scientific experiments. A report released by Barclays earlier this year predicts that by 2035, AI-driven Siasun Robot&Automation and autonomous machines have the potential to evolve into a market worth trillions of dollars. Meanwhile, Alphabet Inc. Class C (GOOGL.US), OpenAI, and NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) are also developing AI models and software for Siasun Robot&Automation.
In a statement on Thursday, Anthropic indicated that industry participants could join a waiting list to apply for a test of the MHS. The company plans to open-source this framework after the preview period ends, allowing any hardware manufacturer to create its own MHS specifications, but Anthropic declined to disclose a specific timeline.
One of the leaders of Anthropic's life sciences division responsible for collaboration and deployment work, Jonah Cool, stated, "In many cases, scientific research cannot be conducted because you cannot use the relevant equipment, or the technical operation of the equipment is too difficult." With the help of the MHS, Claude can become a supportive tool for scientists, enabling them to use the correct equipment in an expert manner.
Anthropic has also previously introduced and promoted a standard for software applicationsthe Model Context Protocol (MCP)which allows AI assistants to interact more easily with third-party applications. For instance, this enables Claude and its chat Siasun Robot&Automation competitor ChatGPT to connect with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Slack.
Alek Kemeny, a member of Anthropics technical team, stated, What MCP does for software, MHS will do the same for the hardware world. Its value will be created in scientific laboratories, where there are often dozens or even hundreds of devices.
Anthropic has already been testing this hardware framework with multiple industry participants, including Amazon.com, Inc. Web Services (AWS), life sciences and diagnostics company Danaher Corporation (DHR.US), the AI open-source community Hugging Face, and Raspberry Pi. In a promotional video released by Anthropic, the company stated that a scientist at the biotech company Genentech Inc. was able to send a PDF document of an experiment they designed to Claude, which AI assistant could then autonomously execute using hardware that had been equipped with the MHS specification.
