In August 2025, China exported 9.51 million tons of steel, a 3.3% decrease compared to the previous month, with export volume slightly falling from the previous month, and the average export price was $698.0 per ton, basically unchanged from the previous month. From January to August, China's cumulative steel exports reached 77.49 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%, with an average export price of $699.1 per ton, a decrease of 10.1% compared to the same period last year. In August, China imported 0.5 million tons of steel, a 10.4% increase compared to the previous month, marking the first rebound since May this year; the average import price was $1653.0 per ton, a decrease of 8.4% compared to the previous month. From January to August, China's cumulative steel imports reached 3.977 million tons, a 14.1% decrease compared to the same period last year; the average import price was $1697.7 per ton, an increase of 1.5% compared to the same period last year.
