China Iron and Steel Association: China's steel exports in August were 9.51 million tons, a decrease of 3.3% compared to the previous month.
According to the Wise Wealth Financial APP, recently, China Iron and Steel Association released the August monthly report on the import and export of steel products. In August 2025, China exported 9.51 million tons of steel, a 3.3% decrease compared to the previous month, with export volume slightly falling from the previous month, and the average export price was $698.0 per ton, basically unchanged from the previous month. From January to August, China's cumulative steel exports reached 77.49 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%, with an average export price of $699.1 per ton, a decrease of 10.1% compared to the same period last year. In August, China imported 0.5 million tons of steel, a 10.4% increase compared to the previous month, marking the first rebound since May this year; the average import price was $1653.0 per ton, a decrease of 8.4% compared to the previous month. From January to August, China's cumulative steel imports reached 3.977 million tons, a 14.1% decrease compared to the same period last year; the average import price was $1697.7 per ton, an increase of 1.5% compared to the same period last year.
