The system for protecting and inheriting intangible cultural heritage has been further improved, with China having 60 items listed in the World Heritage List.
This afternoon, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the achievements of high-quality development in culture and tourism during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period and answer questions from reporters. During the press conference, it was introduced that since the "14th Five-Year Plan", China's cultural relics protection and utilization, archaeological research have been comprehensively strengthened, and achievements have been fruitful in projects such as the Origins of Chinese Civilization project. The revision and implementation of the cultural relics protection law, the smooth progress of the fourth national cultural relics census, the continuous deepening of museum reform, the comprehensive improvement of the cultural relics protection situation, and the more dynamic inheritance and utilization. The systematic level of protection of intangible cultural heritage continues to improve, the construction of cultural ecological protection areas is accelerating, and 325 national-level representative projects of intangible cultural heritage and 942 national-level representatives have been announced in the fifth and sixth batches, respectively. The protection and inheritance system of intangible cultural heritage is more perfect, the concept is deeply rooted in people's hearts, and intangible cultural heritage is better integrated into modern life. The construction of national cultural parks has achieved remarkable results, and the protection of cultural heritage along the route continues to improve. The Beijing Central Axis, the Western Xia Mausoleum, Chinese Tea, and the Spring Festival have successfully been included in the World Heritage List, with 60 projects listed and 44 projects included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, adding brilliant colors to the world's civilization garden.
