From January to August, the number of inter-regional personnel movement in China reached 45.55 billion person-times.

From January to August this year, China's cross-regional passenger flow reached 45.55 billion person-times, an increase of 3.6% year-on-year. Deputy Minister of Transport Li Yang said that in terms of transportation, the passenger volume of railways and civil aviation increased by 6.7% and 5.3% respectively compared to the same period last year, while the number of road passengers increased by 3.4%. The volume of commercial freight transportation steadily increased. From January to August, China completed a commercial freight volume of 380.6 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%. By mode of transportation, railways, roads, waterways, and civil aviation freight volume increased by 2.6%, 3.9%, 3.8%, and 14.5% respectively. The number of express deliveries completed was 128.2 billion, an increase of 17.8% year-on-year. Port cargo throughput grew rapidly. From January to August, China completed a port cargo throughput of 120.3 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%, with domestic and foreign trade throughput increasing by 5.2% and 2.7% respectively. The container throughput was 230 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%, with domestic and foreign trade container throughput increasing by 3.2% and 8.4% respectively. Investment in transportation fixed assets remained high. From January to August, China completed approximately 2.26 trillion yuan in investment in transportation fixed assets. Of this total, railways completed an investment of 504.1 billion yuan, roads completed an investment of 1.5412 trillion yuan, waterways completed an investment of 143.3 billion yuan, and civil aviation completed an investment of 70.7 billion yuan.
