Guangdong region's innovative capacity achieves "nine consecutive wins"

On September 27th, the "China Regional Innovation Capability Evaluation Report 2025" was released in Beijing, and Guangdong once again won the national first place in regional innovation capability, successfully achieving the "ninth consecutive championship". According to the report, in 2025, Guangdong ranked first in regional innovation capability, Jiangsu ranked second, Beijing ranked third, and Zhejiang and Shanghai ranked fourth and fifth respectively. The data shows that Guangdong's R&D expenditure exceeded 510 billion yuan, continuing to lead the country, with an R&D intensity of 3.6%. Major scientific and technological indicators such as R&D expenditure, R&D personnel, high-tech enterprises, effective volume of invention patents, and PCT international patent applications all maintained the first place in the country.
