Due to a fault in the transmission lines, three states in southeastern Mexico experienced a power outage on the 26th, affecting over 2.2 million users. Mexican President Lpez Obrador later announced that power had been restored in some areas of the three states after repairs were carried out. The Federal Electricity Commission of Mexico stated in a declaration that the power outage occurred at 2 pm on the 26th when maintenance workers were repairing the transmission lines in Yucatn, Campeche, and Quintana Roo.
