Hong Kong established the International Aviation Super Hub Development Consultative Committee.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today the establishment of the International Aviation Super Hub Development Advisory Committee and appointed relevant members. With the three-runway system at Hong Kong International Airport set to be operational in November 2024, the SAR government is committed to planning the future development direction of the Hong Kong aviation industry to further enhance its position as an international aviation hub. To this end, the SAR government has established the International Aviation Super Hub Development Advisory Committee to replace the existing Aviation Development and Three-Runway System Advisory Committee, to provide high-level advice on aviation policies, including aviation development direction, implementation of airport city development, operation of the three-runway system and airport city development, connection with surrounding projects, and other civil aviation matters. Secretary for Transport and Housing, Frank Chan, stated that the 14th Five-Year Plan has established Hong Kong's position as an international aviation hub. With the unique advantages granted by the "one country, two systems" policy, a globally connected aviation network, and world-class airport infrastructure, Hong Kong has the capability to play a more important role in the regional and global aviation industry. Looking towards the future, we will further unleash the potential of the three-runway system to make a positive contribution to the country's high-quality development and high-level opening to the outside world. We believe that the International Aviation Super Hub Development Advisory Committee will provide valuable insights to propel the Hong Kong aviation industry to new heights.
