Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in New York City on the 25th and is scheduled to attend the general debate of the United Nations General Assembly on the 26th. According to Israeli media reports, Netanyahu's special plane changed its usual route for the first time to avoid flying over some European countries, adding about 600 kilometers to the journey. The flight from Tel Aviv to JFK Airport, which usually takes less than 11 hours, took 13 hours this time. Although Israeli officials did not provide an explanation for the detour of Netanyahu's plane, media outlets including ABC and The Jerusalem Post believe that the detour was to avoid possible arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court. However, Netanyahu did not waste time during the longer journey. According to a report published in The Jerusalem Post in the early hours of the 26th (local time), the Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced that Netanyahu had given instructions for an airstrike on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, while on his way to the United States. In addition, Netanyahu also received relevant briefings from Israeli Defense Minister Gantz and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir on the plane.
