The top five stocks in terms of increase among the components of the London Stock Exchange that day were: mining and mineral product supplier Rio Tinto Group, up 3.54%; financial investment company 3i Group, up 1.96%; sports betting company Entain, up 1.65%; insurance company Beazley, up 1.41%; and technology company Smiths Group, up 1.15%.
