According to a report from Agence France-Presse, on the 24th local time, a consumer rights protection organization in France requested a court to order the ban on the sale of the Nestle-owned sparkling mineral water "Paris Water" in France, on the grounds that this product is promoted as "natural" but has actually undergone processing and treatment, which could mislead consumers. European law prohibits any disinfection or treatment that could alter the characteristics of natural mineral water. In May of this year, the French Senate's investigating committee released a report stating that Nestle has engaged in consumer fraud.
