On Wednesday, the Baltic Dry Index rose to a near two-month high, driven by an increase in rates for Capesize and Panamax ships. The Baltic Dry Index increased by 40 points or 1.82% from the previous trading day to 2240 points, the highest since July 25th. The Capesize ship index rose by 104 points to 3573 points. The daily profit for Capesize ships increased by $866 to $29,636. The Panamax ship index rose by 25 points to 1824 points, ending a seven-day decline trend. The daily profit for Panamax ships increased by $224 to $16,414. The Supramax ship index fell by 3 points to 1483 points.
