The Ministry of Finance released data showing that in August, the total sales of lottery tickets nationwide were 53.401 billion yuan, a decrease of 9.67 billion yuan compared to the same period last year, a decrease of 1.8%, mainly due to the impact of the Olympic events held last year during the same period, as the sales volume of sports betting type lottery tickets had a high base. Among them, the sales of welfare lottery tickets were 17.274 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.462 billion yuan compared to the same period last year, a decrease of 2.6%; the sales of sports lottery tickets were 36.127 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.506 billion yuan compared to the same period last year, a decrease of 1.4%.
