Xi Jinping leads the Central Committee delegation to arrive in Urumqi to attend the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission Xi Jinping led a central delegation to arrive in Urumqi on the afternoon of the 23rd by special plane to attend the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Xi Jinping and others were warmly welcomed by people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang at the airport and in the city of Urumqi. Wang Huning, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and head of the central delegation, and Cai Qi, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the General Office of the Central Committee, arrived on the same plane.
