Shanghai Customs: The amount of goods eligible for tax refunds leaving Shanghai in the first 8 months exceeds 20 billion yuan.

Since the beginning of this year, the dividend of the departure tax refund policy at Shanghai ports has continued to be released, becoming an important measure to stimulate the consumption vitality of overseas tourists and optimize the cross-border shopping experience. In the first 8 months of this year, Shanghai Customs verified 96,600 departure tax refund applications worth 20.7 billion yuan, an increase of 1.68 times and 83% respectively compared to the same period last year, both exceeding the total for the whole of last year, becoming a new highlight of consumption growth. The performance at Hongqiao Airport port is equally impressive. During the summer travel peak, Shanghai Hongqiao Airport Customs verified 3,329 departure tax refund applications worth 1.25 billion yuan, with year-on-year increases of 1.4 times and 31% respectively.
