The State Council Information Office held a series of themed press conferences on the high-quality completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng introduced that in order to promote the reform of talent supply and demand adaptation, the discipline and major catalog, which used to be revised once every 10 years, is now updated and released urgently needed discipline and major lists every year. In the past two years, the proportion of adjustments to discipline and major points has exceeded 20%; the pilot plan for undergraduate education reform has been implemented, with a series of core textbooks published in 9 basic disciplines including computer science, mathematics, physics, and biology. In terms of vocational education, the "New Dual High" reform is being implemented, vigorously promoting high-level school management capabilities and high-quality integration of industry and education, fully integrating talent growth with the needs of regional economic and social development.
