The 2025 Eurasia Economic Forum opened today in Xi'an.
On September 23, 2025, the Eurasian Economic Forum opened in Xi'an with the theme "Convergence of New Energies in Eurasia for Sustainable Development". The forum aims to rely on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, serve the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, implement the results of the China-Central Asia Summit, and promote local economic development. It focuses on implementing the Belt and Road Initiative, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the outcomes of the Astana Summit and the Second China-Central Asia Summit. More than 500 guests from over 40 countries and regions, including SCO member states and Belt and Road countries, are invited to participate.
The forum adopts a "1+5+3+1" event model. "1" refers to the opening ceremony and plenary session; "5" includes five forum sections on capacity cooperation, rule construction, cultural exchange, technological innovation, and collaborative governance. It also includes 13 sub-forums such as the SCO National Geology Cooperation and Mining Investment Seminar, the Asia-Pacific Tourism Cooperation Conference, and the Silk Road Economic Belt Human Resources Development Conference. "3" involves economic and trade exchanges, cultural exchanges, and the release of the report "Observations on Building the Belt and Road in Eurasia". "1" involves the establishment of a think tank alliance.
