Amazon filed a lawsuit on Monday against the New York State Public Employment Relations Board to block the board from enforcing a new law. The online retailer believes the law is an attempt to unlawfully regulate labor relations in the private sector. In the complaint filed in federal court in Brooklyn, Amazon accuses the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) of usurping the primary authority of the National Labor Relations Board to handle union organizing, collective bargaining, and workplace disputes, calling it a "unconstitutional power grab."
