All schools in Hong Kong will be closed the day after tomorrow.
According to the current forecast of the observatory, the weather in Hong Kong will deteriorate rapidly later tomorrow, and the observatory will consider issuing a typhoon signal No. 8 or above from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow. The weather on Wednesday will continue to be severe, with strong to gale force winds, offshore and high grounds may reach hurricane levels, with frequent gales, heavy rain and thunderstorms. Due to the significant storm surge, it is expected that the water level along the coast may be similar to that of Typhoon Hato in 2017 and Typhoon Mangkhut in 2018. Residents are advised to take immediate wind and water precautionary measures. Considering the above forecast of the observatory, to ensure the safety of students and to avoid students leaving school in case the weather deteriorates rapidly, the Education Bureau announces that all schools will be closed tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
