The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Commerce, and the State Administration for Market Regulation have issued a notice on the "Work Plan for Stable Growth of the Steel Industry". The notice mentions the promotion of technological equipment upgrades. Implementing the "Guidelines for Equipment Upgrades and Technological Transformation in Industrial Key Industries", accelerating the upgrade of restricted equipment such as blast furnaces, converters, electric furnaces, stamping coke ovens, top-loading coke ovens, and sintering machines, as well as the renewal of old equipment that has reached the end of its service life, and promoting the large-scale transformation of main equipment. Promote the application of advanced equipment such as advanced electric furnaces and special smelting equipment. Support regions with conditions to phase out the long process of blast furnace-converter and develop short process electric furnaces.
