Australia's second largest telecommunications carrier, Optus Communications Company, recently experienced a 13-hour communication network outage, which temporarily disrupted emergency call services and resulted in the deaths of four people. According to reports from Agence France-Presse and Reuters on the 20th, the outage occurred in the early hours of the 18th, affecting South Australia, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory. The police in South Australia and Western Australia confirmed that an 8-week-old baby boy, a 68-year-old woman, a 49-year-old man, and a 74-year-old man died because they were unable to reach emergency services for help.
