On September 20, the construction project of the Dukou Expressway officially started at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains. Once completed, this major transportation artery that runs through the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains will achieve year-round barrier-free passage, completely changing the history of the existing Dukou Road, which is closed for half a year. The Dukou Road starts from the north of Dushanzi District, Karamay City, to the south of Kuqa City, Aksu District, traversing the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains, but due to climate conditions, it is only open for 4 months each year. The Dukou Expressway under construction has a total length of 393.693 kilometers, with a design speed of 100 to 120 kilometers per hour. It will form a "fast transit slow travel" dual-channel system with the original road, significantly enhancing the traffic capacity. It will also connect the Narati Grassland, Baoanbuluke Swan Lake, and other famous scenic spots, becoming a truly scenic highway.
