In the first eight months of the year, the production of robots and drones in Guangdong maintained a double-digit growth.

On September 19th, the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Statistics released a brief overview of the economic performance in Guangdong in August. From January to August, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the province increased by 2.2% year-on-year, with the manufacturing industry growing by 2.6%. In key industries, the added value of the computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry increased by 7.0%, and the automobile manufacturing industry grew by 8.3%. The output of robots and drones continued to maintain double-digit growth. In terms of products, the robotics and drones industry has a strong momentum of development, with the output of industrial robots, service robots, and civilian drones increasing by 32.1%, 17.3%, and 54.7% respectively. Clean energy products are also performing well, with the output of wind turbines, solar cells, and new energy vehicles increasing by 43.3%, 81.5%, and 21.9% respectively.
