The water supply project in Sri Lanka constructed by a Chinese company has been completed and put into operation.
The Atana Water Supply Project in Sri Lanka, constructed by Chinese enterprises, was officially completed and put into operation on the 18th, providing a reliable source of clean water for over 600,000 local residents. The completion ceremony of the project was held in Gampaha, Sri Lanka, with hundreds of people in attendance including Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong, senior government officials of Sri Lanka, and representatives of Chinese enterprises. Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Vajira Abeywardena, stated at the ceremony that the Atana Water Supply Project is of great significance. The close relationship between Sri Lanka and China has been strengthened by Chinese assistance in the Atana Water Supply Project and other initiatives, further solidifying the bond between the two countries.
