Ministry of Commerce: Will launch pilot projects in about 50 cities to develop new formats, new models, and new scenes for consumption.

Today, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the main contents and highlights of the "Several Policy Measures on Expanding Service Consumption." The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Commerce stated that the "policy measures" proposed to carry out pilot city construction of new consumption formats, models, and scenes, which is in line with the current trend of consumption upgrading, aiming to address the shortage of high-quality supply and better meet the needs of the people for a better life. China will focus on supporting the improvement of the first-release economic service system, innovating diversified service consumption scenarios, and promoting the crossover cooperation between high-quality consumption resources and well-known IPs. Kong Dejun, Director of the Department of Commerce Services Trade, stated that next, we will select approximately 50 pilot cities for new consumption formats, models, and scenes nationwide through competitive evaluation, focusing on cities with a large population base, strong driving force, and good development potential, in order to increase the supply of high-quality consumption, innovate and enrich diversified consumption scenarios, continuously promote the emergence of new consumption formats, and further enhance consumption vitality, better meet the diverse and differentiated consumption demands of the people, and provide strong support for high-quality economic development.
