Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Carrie Lam delivered a new policy address at the Legislative Council today. Lam stated that the government will promote the commercialization of green technology achievements, including supporting the market development of battery-swapping electric vehicles and automated battery-swapping stations; encouraging non-governmental organizations to build regional cooling systems; and continuing to accelerate the market in reducing carbon emissions for existing buildings. In addition, the government has launched a $300 million Fast Charging Facilities Incentive Scheme, which will provide an additional 3,000 fast charging facilities by the end of 2028. The government also plans to release six sites for the construction of fast charging stations, and bus companies will also open charging facilities for use by other vehicles.
