CATL signs contracts for multiple projects including the 21st Century Innovation Research and Development and Pilot Testing Base.

On September 17, at the 2025 World Energy Storage Conference, CATL signed multiple projects. CATL signed an agreement with the Dongqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee for the "CATL 21st Century Innovation Research and Trial Base Project". The project has a total planned investment of 2 billion yuan and will include the development of 16 pilot projects for next-generation thin-film solar cells, key materials for new energy batteries, and more. CATL also signed an agreement to invest in the construction of a new generation of new energy battery production line project in Jiaocheng District, covering an area of about 900 mu, with a planned total investment of 6.5 billion yuan. The project will build a new generation of new energy battery production line with a planned capacity of 40GWh. In addition, CATL signed an agreement to invest in the construction of a new generation of unconventional consumer battery production line project in Jiaocheng District, covering an area of about 260 mu, with a planned total investment of 2.9 billion yuan. The project will build 6 new generation of unconventional consumer lithium-ion battery production lines.
