The Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Hubei Province introduced at a press conference held by the Hubei Provincial Government News Office that in 2024, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries in Hubei Province reached 984.41 billion yuan, ranking fourth in the country, with a growth of 29.2% compared to the end of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan". Since the start of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan", the province has built 11.84 million mu of high-standard farmland, and implemented large-scale single-crop yield improvement actions for grain and oil crops in 55 major grain-producing counties. In 2024, the total grain production in the province reached 55.7 billion catties, with the annual grain output staying above 55 billion catties for nearly four years.
