ASEAN leaps to become the second largest trading partner of Ningbo

According to statistics from Ningbo Customs, from January to August this year, the total import and export trade volume between Ningbo and ASEAN reached 139.62 billion yuan, an increase of 16.6% year-on-year, with imports totaling 62.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13%, and exports totaling 76.92 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%. As a result, ASEAN has for the first time become Ningbo's second largest trading partner. With its port advantages and a complete automotive industry chain, Ningbo is becoming the preferred channel for ASEAN automotive parts to enter the Chinese market. At the same time, Ningbo and the surrounding areas have a developed manufacturing industry base, especially in industries such as textiles and electronics, which complement the industries of ASEAN countries well.
