Canadian Prime Minister sets merger conditions for UK mining companies: Headquarters must first move to Canada.
According to a report from the Canadian Globe and Mail on September 15th, Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, told the London-based mining company, Anglo American Resources Group, that if they wanted to proceed with acquiring Canada's Teck Resources, they would need to move their headquarters to Canada. The report cited sources familiar with the matter who said that Trudeau explicitly stated during the conversation with Anglo American Resources Group that any company looking to acquire Teck Resources must first agree to "move its headquarters to Canada".
