Stephen Moore confirmed by the US Senate to serve as Federal Reserve Board Governor.
On September 15th local time, the United States Senate approved the nomination of Stephen Moore as a member of the Federal Reserve Board with a narrow margin of 48-47. Moore is expected to participate in the two-day Federal Reserve meeting starting on September 16th. It is reported that Stephen Moore previously served as a senior economic policy advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury during President Trump's first term and holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University. The Federal Reserve issued a statement on August 1st announcing that Fed Governor Kuggler would resign from his position as a Fed Governor, officially stepping down on August 8th. On August 7th local time, President Trump announced that he had selected White House Economic Advisory Council Chairman Stephen Moore to fill the vacant position on the Federal Reserve Board, with a term ending on January 31, 2026.
