According to the Wise Financial APP, on September 14, Cui Dongshu, the Secretary-General of the Passenger Car Branch Committee, stated in a post that the retail sales of passenger cars in August 2025 increased by 5%, which is significantly lower than the 15% growth in wholesale. Due to restrictions on high interest rates and high returns, as well as the suspension of subsidies, retail sales in August fell. Retail sales of sedans and SUVs were both lower in August, with C-segment SUVs becoming the main force in August retail sales. High-end SUVs performed well, while the sales of A0-grade sedans rebounded in the sedan category, and sales of A00-grade sedans performed well.
