Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Further standardize the competition order of the automotive industry.

The 2025 China International Forum on the Development of the Automobile Industry opened today in Tianjin. Officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, and other relevant departments offered suggestions on how to maintain fair market competition in the automotive industry in the near term, and how to achieve higher quality development in the automotive industry during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. An official from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that China will continue to intensify efforts in the green and low-carbon transformation of the automotive industry. Next, China will study and formulate the "New Era Development Plan for Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicles Industry". At the same time, support will be given to leading enterprises to promote innovation collaboration among large, medium, and small enterprises, accelerating the development and industrialization of next-generation power batteries, vehicle chips, operating systems, autonomous driving, high-end equipment, and other technologies. "A new round of stable growth in the automotive industry will be implemented, continuously optimizing preferential policies such as vehicle purchase tax and vehicle tax for new energy vehicles. At the same time, further standardizing industry competition order, maintaining a fair and orderly market environment, and exploring the implementation of power battery carbon footprint management," said Guo Shougang, deputy director of the Equipment Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
