International Energy Agency: Low emission hydrogen projects face resistance but will still grow strongly.
The International Energy Agency released a report on the "Global Hydrogen Assessment for 2025" on the 12th, stating that despite facing multiple obstacles, it is expected that low-emission hydrogen projects will continue to grow strongly by 2030. The report points out that in recent years, the development of low-emission hydrogen has not met the expected goals set by the industry and some national governments due to factors such as high costs, uncertainty in demand and regulations, and slow infrastructure development. There have even been waves of project delays and cancellations in recent times. However, it is projected that by 2030, low-emission hydrogen projects will continue to grow strongly. By then, the annual production capacity of projects that are operational, under construction, or have already reached a final investment decision is expected to increase by more than 5 times compared to the level in 2024, surpassing 4 million tons. If effective policies are put in place to ensure demand, there is also potential to add an additional 6 million tons of annual production capacity by 2030.
