China Iron and Steel Association: Social inventories of steel in early September were 9.2 million tons, up 4.2% from the previous month.
On September 13, the data from the China Iron and Steel Industry Association showed that in early September, the social inventory of 5 major types of steel in 21 cities was 9.2 million tons, an increase of 320,000 tons compared to the previous period, up 4.2%, with inventory continuing to rise. Compared to the beginning of the year, the inventory increased by 2.61 million tons, up 39.6%; compared to the same period last year, it increased by 360,000 tons, up 4.1%, with inventory increasing year-on-year. In terms of inventory for different types, in early September, the social inventory of the 5 major types of steel all increased compared to the previous period, with rebar being the largest in terms of increase, and wire rod showing the greatest increase in terms of percentage. In terms of year-on-year comparison, inventory for rebar, cold-rolled coil, and wire rod increased, while inventory for hot-rolled coil and medium and thick plates decreased.
