Small-cap stocks surged, surpassing the S&P 500 index. Wall Street is optimistic about the upward trend continuing.
The Russell 2000 index, which includes some of the highest risk stocks in the market, has recently surged significantly, with many Wall Street strategists suggesting that the upward trend is just beginning. This small-cap stock index has risen nearly 10% since the end of July, which is twice the increase of the S&P 500 index. Summarizing the bottom-up price targets, analysts predict that this outperformance is expected to continue over the next year. According to data compiled by Bloomberg, they believe that the Russell 2000 index is likely to rise another 20%, compared to an expected 11% increase for the S&P 500.
