Gansu Province has experienced a drought in many areas. The three main backbone projects have transferred a total of 2.45 billion cubic meters of water.

On the 21st, it was learned from the Department of Water Resources of Gansu Province that since April this year, the average precipitation in Gansu Province has been 17.3 millimeters, which is 65.2% below normal for the same period, the lowest in history. As of May 20th, drought has occurred in 39 counties in 9 cities including Lanzhou, Baiyin, Dingxi, Qingyang, Pingliang, Gannan, Longnan, Wuwei, and Lanzhou New Area. Up to now, the three main projects of Jingedian, Yindai, and Yintao have accumulated a total water diversion of 2.45 billion cubic meters.
