Tang Wenhong, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, stated at a press conference at the State Council Information Office on May 21 that in 2024, the trade volume between China and Africa reached 295.6 billion US dollars, an increase of 4.8% year-on-year, hitting a historical high for the fourth consecutive year. China has maintained its status as Africa's largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years. For example, 90% of the cashews produced in South Africa are exported to China each year, and the Chinese market has helped South Africa become the world's third largest cashew producer. Tang Wenhong introduced that the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo will be held in Changsha, Hunan from June 12 to 15, with the theme of "China and Africa working together towards modernization".
